Adidas Duramo 6 Review

Made with more inexpensive, but still quality materials, the Adidas Duramo 6 is able to hit the heart of many wearers, casual and athletes alike. With a durable lightweight and cushiony presence, the Duramo 6 provides high levels of satisfaction rates in terms of its comfort. While it can't compete with the ultra expensive and high-quality of the premium running shoes, the Adidas Duramo 6 has its place in the market.

Welcome to the Duramo 6 Running Shoe from the Adidas Performance lineup.  Here we have a great entree level shoe that I would recommend to beginner runners along with casual runners or overall comfy footwear.  The Duramo 6 offers a stylish neutral running shoe that offers a decent amount of cushion and great durability for extended use.  Those are both features I find important toward entree level runners or casual wearers.

Duramo 6 Design/Purpose

With a retail price of $60, this shoe is specifically made as an entrée level shoe although Adidas may not admit it.  In terms of overall weight, it will be very light to anybody new to running.  It may not be quite as light to runners who are looking for ultra light shoes.  With the slight weight increase though, it provides some more comfort and durability to the shoe.  The air mesh of this shoe does provide a decent ventilation system, which of course will keep your feet a bit cooler while on the run in hot situations.

Also, it would be a great shoe to have to work/stand in all day because of the comfort.  I currently work in a warehouse, and any running shoe built to fit your foot with cushion is typically very comfortable for all day use.   You can feel a pretty evenly distributed cushion in the midsole from each step you take.  I know some cheaper-end shoes lack comfort but with the Duramo 6’s, you should have no worries.   Most of my runs consist of shorter-medium distances and I own a few longer distance shoes like the Kayano 20, so this would be a decent shoe to put into my mix and when I wanted to run my 1/2 marathons, I could make a quick switch.

Duramo 6 Appearance

There has been some knock on the Duramo series but I do like the Duramo 6’s a bit more.  The colors are a bit bold which I personally like and I have always been a fan of the Adidas triple stripes.  If you like Adidas shoes, I do not see why you would not like the color options available here.  Colors include darker shades of black, lighter grey, a darker blue, and then a brighter neon green and brighter blue.

Duramo 6 Pricing

With the quality and especially durability of this shoe, I love the price options for this shoe.  Most price options are in-between $45-55, some with have Amazon prime available, and others with free shipping.  You really cannot go wrong with that price unless you are looking for an extremely cheap athletic shoe although the lifespan of these shoes are usually detrimentally shorter.

Overall, the only other knock on this shoe is the size limitations.  There are no wide options so if you do have wider feet, I would not recommend this shoe because you will end up with a tight toe box.

Duramo 6 Durability

The Adidas Duramo 6 has held up as well as most of my other running shoes.  Every once in a while I’ll run across a pair of running shoes such as the Roshe Run that simply is not built for last.  I believe Adidas wanted to make this a lastable shoe.  There has been no tears from the outsoles all the way toward the upper.  Does it have some nicks and bruises? sure but any shoe is going to have those.  The important things to look at are the seems and any threading tears in a weaker upper.  There is neither in this running shoe.

*Great Entree level shoe.

*Very appealing and classic Adidas use for casual or athletic wear.

*Great overall customer satisfaction ratings.

*Fairly light for a shoe with good cushion in its price range.

*Limitations in size options.
